In 1963, Oliver Olszewsky was born and raised in München
(Munich), Germany. He grew up with 9 siblings, 7 of
which became notable professional Landscapers. Their
father, Olf Winand Olszewsky, is one of the most famous
Landscape Architects of post-WWII Bavaria, and to this
day runs 5 Nurseries throughout Germany. One of which
continues as an established Production Nursery which
Oliver oversaw sales, production and landscaping operations
of until 1994.
In 1988, Oliver completed formal studies at the University
of Oldenburg, obtaining his Garten bau Techniker
(Horticulture B.S. equiv.).
By 1989, he was selected to travel to the U.S. with
the government program Experience International",
in which participants learned
Landscaping techniques from other nations. Oliver had
the opportunity to work with acclaimed firms such as
Briggs Nursery, Tsuki Nursery, and Phil Huldert Landscaping,
Inc. This experience, along with intense studies taken
at the SPSCC, gained him much respect as a highly sought
after multilevel Landscaping Professional. While in
the program, Oliver met and married his (American) wife;
And though he was offered many lucrative positions,
together they decided to move back to Munich where Oliver
was to continue working for the familys superior
landscaping company. Ten years later however, they made
another decision to move to his Wifes childhood
home of Olympia, WA. It is in Western Washington where
Landscaping history will now be made to flourish.
